The ‘art in the periphery’ research cluster (coordinated by Foteini Vlachou) is pleased to announce the second edition of its seminar, with the participation of Nóra Veszprémi (formerly of the Hungarian National Gallery, and currently a lecturer in art history at the Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest). Her talk, entitled “Characteristic but Universal: Narratives of Hungarian art”, will expand on methodological and theoretical problems regarding the integration of Hungarian art and art historiography in canons of Western European art, problems of the relationship between centers and peripheries, and the identities of artistic regions. The seminar will take place on September 26, at 18h00, at the Faculdade das Ciências Sociais e Humanas, Universidade Nova de Lisboa (I&D building, room 1.05, floor 1).
